State Road opened in 2009 in the agricultural town West Tisbury on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Our interiors were designed by Michael S. Smith. Michael appointed unique American antiques throughout the restaurant and called on regional craftsman and artisans to create a warm and inviting contemporary tavern. In 2010 we planted herb, fruit and vegetable gardens on our grounds. We harvest from the gardens daily for our seasonally focused menus.

So fortunate to have one of the best restaurants on the island on our side of the island for a change. The decor, service, and of course the cuisine is first class. LOVE the bar!

Went here at the end of May. The food was delicious, the ambiance was impeccable, and the staff was incredibly generous. But it was the salted caramels that we got at the end of the meal that made me want to write this review. To be honest, I forget the specific flavors of the dish that I ordered. However, each one of my taste buds remembers the caramels. I long for them. They should make those caramels available to purchase, and whoever makes them should be given the Nobel Peace Prize.
